Reading Group: Decolonising and Methodology in Anthropology

In Michaelmas Term 2022, CUSAS started a new reading group on “Decolonising and Methodology in Anthropology”. Our vision at CUSAS is of a department, wherein students and staff are exposed to challenging and diverse views which further their anthropological interest and facilitate both academic achievement and social change, and we believe that focusing on methodology, broadly, and decolonising, in particular, are crucial to that aim.

We plan to hold these groups fortnightly on Tuesdays at 7pm during term time and would love to see anyone with an interest in anthropology – whether staff, fellows, students, or curious passer-by.

If you would like to join, please message the CUSAS email ( and you will be added to the Reading Group Teams chat by a CUSAS Committee member.

Locations for each meeting will be shared via Teams. We will also share the readings for each fortnight in the Teams chat.
